Abstract

An annotated collection of diary entries written by John Wollaston, a pioneer of Western Australia. Wollaston was an observant writer who included lively accounts of shipboard life and the setting up of his parish, St Mark's, at Picton. His honest description of life in Australia's alien environment is a valuable primary source document. Wollaston went on to become rector at Albany and the colony's first archdeacon
