Abstract

A review of diet manipulation to influence the intestinal environment which includes interactions between pathogens and hosts modification, and prevention of specific diseases, is presented. Interactions in the stomach (ulcerations of the pars oesophagea), small intestines (postweaning colibacillosis), and large intestines (swine dysentry and porcine intestinal spirochaetosis), are discussed.
