Abstract
In this brief study I approach the question of the setting of Matthew's Gospel from the perspective of its attitudes towards sexuality or matters sexual, as part of a major project in which I am currently engaged, investigating Jewish and Christian literature to the end of the first century. Matthew has few pertinent references but more so than any other gospel and a number of these played a role in discussions of Matthew's setting.
