Abstract
The hydrolysis of cellulose extracted from wheat straw, newspaper, as well as whole wheat straw was studied using hydrogen chloride as a hydrolysing agent. The results of the experiment investigation show that alphacellulose, which was hydrolysed, was stoichiometrically converted to glucose. The hydrolysis of the alphacellulose and the production and decomposition of the glucose followed first order reaction kinetics.
