Abstract
The results of this study suggest that the adoption of an innovation, i.e. domain names, relates to performance indicators. A detailed analysis of 155 Valaisan hotel's monthly revenues between 1992 and 2003 indicate that website adoption, for hotels with their own domain or in a portal, is positively related to revenue. That is, the revenue level is higher arter adoption than before. These patterns suggest that Internet technologiesmight have a positive impact on hotel performance, perhpas via improved marketing and distribution.
