Abstract

The India-China dyad is at the core of Asian politics and the emerging power dynamics in the region, which is further complicated by the presence of the United States-China dyad. These two dyads, India-China and the US-China, are at play in this Asian century, where the established hegemony of America is being challenged by emerging China. As per Goldman Sachs economists, “United States’ long-standing economic exceptionalism will fade as the 21st century wears on.” 1 According to the prediction, China’s GDP will surpass that of the US around 2035, and India’s GDP will narrowly surpass the US around 2075.
