Abstract
Attributes of the community level of biological organization reflect integrated environmental conditions over a period of time, and can be used to detect and monitor the effects of environmental pollution. Methods of data analysis include univariate indices, graphical distributional techniques and multivariate methods, the latter being particularly sensitive in detecting community change.
