Abstract
The book examines the growing importance of environmental issues and their relationship to broader processes of social, political and economic change in Southeast Asia. The case studies included documented environmental struggles over large dams, forestry, mining, pollution and tourism. The papers draw on new approaches in social and political ecology and relate macro-theoretical frameworks to the case studies.
