Abstract
Proteins play a crucial role in maintaining metabolism and regulating physiological functions in organisms, making their analysis essential for understanding biological processes. Despite the importance of protein analysis, the limited number of available methods for determining protein sequences has constrained our ability to fully explore the proteome. This minireview examines various protein sequencing methods, from established techniques to emerging trends. We discuss the advantages and limitations of each approach, with a particular focus on the developing field of single-molecule protein sequencing.
