Abstract
The copper-cobalt oxide (CuxCoyOz) thin film coating had been successfully synthesized on aluminium substrate using sol-gel dip-coating method. Mineralogical characteristics of the coating were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and energy dispersive X-ray (EDX). The surface morphology was investigated using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) in which the coating had a nano-sized grain-like particles array forming a porous-trenches-like surface structure. UV-Vis-NIR spectrophotometry analysis revealed that the coatings had low reflectance (< 50 %) in UV range, moderate reflectance (≤ 90 %) in visible range and high reflectance (up to 100 %) in near-infrared. A solar spectrally selective absorber curve profile was produced with the increase of dip-heating cycle.
