Abstract

The storage, transportation and distribution of time and temperature sensitive pharmaceutical products such as vaccines and human insulin, within the proper temperature conditions is an important public health concern worldwide. The people responsible for making and handling pharmaceutical products need to have some level of expertise in what they do so they can take actions and make decisions so the products are not negatively affected by temperature. In this paper, we describe a project designed to facilitate the development of expertise through a web-based learning environment. The design research approach and methodology of the study are explained, and the early stages of planning and design are described in detail.
