Abstract

This article reviews the current dietary recommendations for several important minerals, like magnesium, selenium, nitrogen, phosphorus, copper and zinc, their role in the pig industry, particularly on pig performance and pork quality and some of the options (use of feed additives and enzymes) that are available to reduce their harmful effects on the environment, without compromising the performance of the animal.
