Abstract
Anaerobic digestion is one of the important processes developed for the treatment of wastewaters containing organic substances. These substances are stabilized by the action of a variety of microbial populations in the absence of free oxygen and are eventually converted to methane (CH4) and carbon dioxide (C02).
