Abstract
The authors’ presentation explores the ways in which work samples can systematically serve both teacher candidate appraisal and teacher education program evaluation across divisions. The presentation discusses: 1) how assessments can serve both personnel and program evaluation, 2) the perspective of each division on the challenges, benefits and pitfalls of implementing work sample methodology with in each programmatic context, while remaining within the context of a teaching effectiveness research effort, 3) insights revealed by students at various stages of the teacher preparations program.
