Connecting with history: Strategies for an inquiry classroom
National Conference of the History Teachers' Association of Australia (HTAA) (Perth College, Mount Lawley, W.A, 02/10/2012–04/10/2012)
2012
Abstract
How do we teach history in ways that are fresh, engaging and appropriate? What tools can we use to enliven the history classroom? How might we teach history beyond a narrow 'gallop through a narrative' approach?
Using the questions as a base this workshop explores Connecting with History: Strategies for an inquiry classroom (Education Services Australia), a new resource designed for teachers of history, with a particular focus on the primary years. The worshop will provide opportunities for participants to engage with the resource and consider how they might adapt tools to suit their particular classroom contexts.
