Analysis of a kinetic model for continuous polyhydroxybutyrate production
Honours, Murdoch University
2018
Abstract
A previously studied kinetic model that displays the biosynthesis of polyhydroxybutyrate using Cupriavidus necator, by a five-stage continuous stirred tank reactor was used to model and optimise polyhydroxybutyrate production using a two-stage continuous stirred tank reactor scenario. The proposed optimised model has shown an increase of 11.7 PHB % of cell dry mass and an increased volumetric PHB productivity by 4.42 g L-1 h-1 compared to the five-stage reactor cascade.
