2010
Abstract
The background to the co-operation between the Australian publisher Angus and Robertson in Sydney and George G. Harrap and Co. in London during the late 1930s is discussed, and also its implications for the Australian book trade. Although critics believed that the move was made by the British publisher to prevent the growth of any Australian publisher in Australia, supporters stated that the co-operation was an effective method to expand the sales of English language books in the Australian market.
