The analysis that follows centres on Part III of the Trade Related Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS) Agreement.(2) TRIPS was one of a number of new agreements to emerge from the Uruguay Round of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade {GATT}.(3)
