Abstract
Recent concerns over the potential dangers of drugs that arc used for AttentionDeficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder {ADHD) have led to consideration of stronger warnings on pill box labels. These drugs are also being misused by approximately 4% of older teens and emerging adults (annual use). This paper reviews the current prevalence of ADHD drug use among young people, the consequences of use of these drugs, and implications of this information for improving the study habits of youth, drug abuse prevention and cessation efforts, and drug prescription policy.
