Abstract
Elythranthera emarginata (Lindl.) A. S. George and E. brunonis (Endl.) A. S. George both contain cyanidin-3,5-diglucoside and delphinidin-3,5-diglucoside. Pigment concentrations in E. marginata are 2 · 5 times those of E. brunonis. Cyanidin/delphinidin ratios in both species are essentially the same. These findings are discussed in relation to the taxonomy, color, and the life cycle of Elythranthera.
