Confessions of a library user
LASIE: Library Automated Systems Information Exchange, Vol.33(1), pp.7-16
2002
Abstract
Drawing on more than fifty years of experience, an Australian historian charts the development of library and archival resources in Australia during that period and looks at changes in the nature of the demands which have been made of these resources. He looks at some of the issues arising from the revolution in information technology in recent decades and speculates on the adaptations which will be expected of both libraries and their users in promoting the national research endeavour in the early 21st century.
