Abstract
The authors regret that a minor factual classification issue was identified regarding the C3/C4 photosynthetic pathway label assigned to Eragrostis elongata (species code B1). To ensure accuracy and to minimise changes to the published manuscript, explicit C3/C4 labels have been replaced with neutral grass group labels (G1/G2) throughout the paper, while all other plant functional group labels (Forb, N-fixing legume) remain unchanged.
This correction applies to the species description in the Methods and associated tables, and to the label text in Figs. 1, 2 and 4, as well as corresponding supplementary figure labels. The correction is restricted to label text only; species codes and all underlying data remain unchanged.
Verification and reanalysis confirmed that these label changes do not affect the experimental design, statistical analyses, results, interpretations, or conclusions of the study, which are based on plant functional group composition rather than species-level photosynthetic pathway classification.
