Countering voices. An approach to Asian and feminist studies in the 1990s
Women's Studies International Forum, Vol.17(6), pp.663-672
1994
Abstract
Increasingly, in the 1990s, feminist research is a process involving the crossing of boundaries, in particular between cultures and between disciplines, and entailing an awareness of, and attempts at addressing, complex moral and political questions. This article is an attempt to illustrate both the possibilities and the problems of such a process, and to address some of the questions it raises, by discussing the author's experience of undertaking research on gender relations in rural China.
