Abstract

Antibodies to the muscle autoantigen cytoplasmic 5’-nucleotidase (C5N) have proved promising as a biomarker for inclusion body myositis (IBM).1 A blood test to support a diagnosis of IBM would potentially reduce the need for muscle biopsy. We have assessed the capacity of this assay to distinguish IBM from other inflammatory myopathies (IM) and other relevant conditions.
