Abstract

1. In contrast to a recent study, our histological investigations have shown that elastin-like fibres are present in the blood vessels of lampreys. 2. The demonstration of these fibres was dependent on appropriate fixation and varied in quality with the three types of stain used. 3. Gomori's aldehyde fuchsin was the only one of the three stains to show the finer details of lamprey elastin-like fibres.
