Abstract

Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is the commonest cause of chronic viral hepatitis in the majority of developed countries and a significant cause of cirrhosis, hepatic failure, and hepatocellular carcinoma. Interferon-α is an effective treatment for hepatitis C.
