Abstract

More than half century ago, Abraham S. Greenberg humbly credited the first recorded trademark to China in the period of Emperor Hoang-To around 2698 B.C., an era that the art of making pottery was discovered. However, some others doubted the truth of it when the obtainable historical data remained only in extremely high fragment. In this regard, some commentators even totally denied that ancient Chinese potteries were marked.
