Mössbauer spectroscopic study on iron-containing biominerals in the limpet radula

Abstract
Mössbauer measurements on iron-containing biominerals in the limpet radula have been carried out in the temperature range 5–420 K. Spectra show the same parameters and behavior as seen in goethite. The synthesis of iron-mineral in the limpet radula seems to occur only in the form of goethite among many iron oxides.
