Pathogen die-off in stored wastewater sludge
Water Science & Technology, Vol.31(5-6), pp.91-95
1995
Abstract
The storage of wastewater sludge as a possible low-cost means of pathogen reduction prior to its beneficial reuse was examined. However, after a 12 month storage period levels of Salmonella, faecal coliforms and streptococci, and Giardia cysts were too high for simple storage to be considered an adequate treatment option.
