Phytohormone signaling regulates plant growth and development. Single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) provides unprecedented opportunities to decipher hormone-mediated spatiotemporal gene regulatory networks. Nolan et al. employed time-series scRNA-seq to identify the cortex as a key site for brassinosteroid-mediated gene expression and revealed a signaling network during cell phase transition.
