Abstract
The common inshore fish known as snapper or tamure, Chrysophrys auratus (Roberts et al., 2015) is found predominantly in the warmer waters of the North Island of New Zealand, but can also be found, though more sparsely, in the South Island from approximately Christchurch north (Crossland, 1981).
