Abstract

The free enthalpy change (formula omitted), and the entropy change (formula omitted), of the aragonite-calcite phase transition have been studied by an electrochemical method. A definitive set of thermodynamic data for the reaction (equation omitted) is now available, and the results are consistent with those from direct determinations of the respective phase boundary.
