The great Indian epic and Peter Brook
Meanjin, Vol.47(2), pp.343-352
1988
Abstract
The story and significant meanings of the great Indian epic 'Mahabharata' are discussed, in the background of Peter Brook's theatrical adaptation of the epic. It is suggested that Brook has used the theatricality and narrative of the epic very effectively in a multinational style, even as he has diluted the epic's Indianness.
