Abstract

Eurystomina terricola (De Man, 1907) is redescribed from the British coast. It is characterised by the typical structure of the buccal cavity and in the male a combination of non-winged supplements and a gubernaculum bearing an apophysis. It is proposed that Gerlachystomina Inglis, 1962, be synonymised with Eurystomina. E. terricola prefers coarse relatively dry substrates and is therefore confined to the extreme upper levels of sandy shores and the dryer crevices of rocky shores.
