Changing Television Environments, Vol.5066, pp.20-29
2008
Abstract
This paper outlines usability evaluation procedures in an industry-linked research study of preschool children and interactive television. Preschool children's responses to interactive television prototypes were assessed in a controlled laboratory setting situated within a familiar environment. It reports on the analysis of key pressing behaviour as a quantitative measure of preschool children's responses to interactive technologies. The relationship between key pressing behaviour and levels of motivation, mastery and breakdown is explored.
