Writing feminism/theoretical inscriptions in South Africa
Current Writing: Text and Reception in Southern Africa, Vol.2(1), pp.30-34
1990
Abstract
To find our measure, exactly,
not the echo of other voices.
The present growing out of our lungs
like a flower, with a smell
that we have re-traced through our veins
some dark, secret smell
that will bloom when the hour has struck
an animal smell
reminiscent of blood
the world's scent
(Antigone Kefala)
