e−H scattering S-wave model for initial excited states
Physical Review A - Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics, Vol.64(2)
2001
Abstract
The S-wave model of e-H scattering was considered on a broad range of energies with an emphasis on ionization from excited initial states, including an initial state in the target continuum. This study, as a function of energy allowed the identification of unexpected structure in both the elastic free-free cross section and in the total ionization cross section when the initial state energy is half the total energy. The structure was explained by reference to the free-free potential matrix elements.
