Abstract

Children as young as kindergarten students participate in formal assessments in school. But teachers are fearing these tests are having a negative effect on students, and research shows that tests causes a development of anxiety in children. A switch to quality play-based learning for kids under 8 is believed to be a solution to these issues. We spoke to Dr. Hesterman from Murdoch University to discuss the benefits and effects of the learning model.
