Tawag Sa Bantayan
2008
Abstract
The ‘Tawag sa Bantayan’ is a play that creatively threads monologues with the ‘Pangalay’ southern dances as choreographed by Ligaya Amilbangsa and retells the story of a coastal community in Punta Cruz that was exposed to pirates raids.
As a threat of southern pirates ram into their coasts, the people of Punta Cruz joined hands to build a sturdy fortification that provided them vantage points to scan the horizon for the coming raids and armed themselves in time to repel the attacks, so goes the gist of the play.
