A soils and land management study of Mt Kakeby
Murdoch University
1991
Abstract
The present study was undertaken on an area of approximately 400 ha adjacent to the Mt. Kokeby siding (32°13'5; 116°58'E), close to the Avon River, about 12 km south of Beverley (Fig.1). The study area includes two blocks of remnant vegetation but the land use is predominately agricultural. The study objective was to determine the distribution of soils at Mt. Kokeby, the main factors limiting capability for use and the current forms of degradation evident. Preliminary proposals were also outlined for the management of the remnant vegetation blocks in the context of an integrated catchment management plan.
