Detection of salmonella in composted wastewater sludge: a report on a research project carried out for the Water Authority of Western Australia
Environmental Science Report No. 95/5, Institute for Environmental Science, Murdoch University
1995
Abstract
It is likely that Australian sludge management guidelines will require monitoring of composted wastewater sludge for the presence of salmonellae. However, methods to perform this monitoring are not well established and it appears that methods used in the past may severely underestimate Salmonella numbers. The aim of this project was to evaluate methods for detecting Salmonella in composted sludge.
