Abstract

There is organic incorporation and decomposition at the soil surface, giving rise to well-developed A horizons, especially in stable gullies. Evidence of translocatory processes is slight: there are no morphological indications and evidence comes only from a down-profile study of iron concentrations. Although there is evidence of soil weathering in the form of mineral decomposition, the clay minerals have probably arisen as the result of geological processes
