Abstract
This study explores how governments and their agencies can collaborate to better align their place-based funding and frameworks when partnering with communities. Drawing on interview data with governmental (5) and non-governmental (7) stakeholders, our findings highlight that government stakeholders are aware that backbone organisations are experiencing significant challenges in managing multiple funding bodies, relationships, and reporting frameworks. Most government stakeholders expressed views that were very supportive of the collective impact model and appreciated that making a sustainable positive impact takes time.
