Abstract
The vocation is intact. The conditions are not. The report finds that academic staff remain deeply committed to students, teaching, equity, research, and the public purpose of teacher education. However, the conditions required to sustain that commitment are being progressively eroded by workload intensification, compliance demands, limited recognition of invisible labour, leadership opacity, weakened staff voice, and declining research capacity.
