About me

Alannah is a Senior Lecturer at Murdoch University and an active Nurse Researcher.

Alannah's clinical background is in Emergency Nursing with experience working in Emergency Departments in Melbourne and Perth. Since 2015 Alannah has specialised in conducting nurse-led research collaborating with clinically-based nurses and midwives to address real-world challenges in the acute care context. As well as clinical research, another main area of interest for Alannah is workforce research. Her PhD focused on the impact of organisational values on nurse resilience and she continues to build on this work post doc. Alannah is passionate about advocating for the nursing profession and promoting nurse-led research. She has expertise in mixed methods research and co-design. Alannah's teaching is also research focused currently as a Unit Coordinator for a postgraduate research unit and teaching into an undergraduate research unit.

In 2023 & 2024 Alannah was shortlisted as a finalist in the WA Nursing & Midwifery Excellence Awards for the Excellence in Research category.
