About me

With over 30 years of experience in the education sector, Alison brings extensive expertise in teaching and learning, quality improvement, and curriculum design. Her work is grounded in evidence-based practice and underpinned by a strong belief in curriculum as a powerful lever for capability development and educational transformation.

Her career includes both academic and leadership roles, including Head of School, Curriculum and Quality Manager, and Director of Quality. For ten years, she also served as an Inspector with Ofsted, the UK government's education regulator and inspectorate, evaluating schools and colleges against national standards. Alison also worked nationally and internationally as an education consultant for eight years, supporting institutions with curriculum reform, quality assurance, and leadership development.

Her education research focuses on social justice, examining how social structures shape civic responsibility and perpetuate inequality. This work informs her commitment to inclusive, transformative education and underpins her approach to teaching. Her research in the Murdoch Business School focuses on the scholarship of teaching learning (SoTL), continuous improvement and the assurance of learning.

She has coordinated and taught a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate units in both education and business.

In July 2025, she commenced a full-time academic position within the Murdoch Business School, contributing to teaching, research, and strategic initiatives. She is currently supporting the School’s preparation for AACSB accreditation, with a particular focus on leading the work on Standard 5: Assurance of Learning, working closely with academic colleagues and the leadership team to enhance continuous improvement processes and ensure alignment with international standards.
