About me

I hold a bachelor’s degree in veterinary medicine at Federal University of Minas Gerais (Brazil, 2009), a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Veterinary Epidemiology and Public Health at the same institution (2011), and a PhD in Veterinary Sciences at Murdoch University, Australia (2018). I also have 4 years of post-doctoral experience with the the Vector and Water-borne Pathogens Research Group at Murdoch University.


My research focuses on the molecular epidemiology of tick-borne pathogens within a One Health framework. My research interests also include: developing novel diagnostic technologies for vector-borne diseases, phylogeny and evolution of protozoan pathogens, wildlife conservation, food safety, and educational interventions for prevention and control of neglected infectious diseases.
