About me

My research spans applied psychology, across organisational psychology, educational psychology and social psychology. My PhD was in the area of leader development.


I have a number of projects looking at topics including the following:

  • The predictors of student retention and student engagement
  • An investigation into the identity development of student-athletes
  • The predictors of academic procrastination
  • The psychosocial outcomes of the use of dating applications
  • The impact of dating application use on relationship development

I also have research interests in longitudinal and multi-level research, self-regulatory processes, recovery from work, identity development, and student retention.


I supervise the research projects of several PhD, Masters, honours, and graduate diploma of psychology students.

Current/past student projects include:

  • Cognitive perspectives of psychopathic personality
  • Employer perspectives on employee integrity
  • The gender pay gap and leadership intentions
  • Psycho-social outcomes of the use of dating applications
  • The impact of dating applications on relationship development
  • Acknowledging the whole: Mental health service-provider competencies for working with intersectional identities
