About me
Since joining Murdoch University in 2010, I have held a range of academic and support roles across disciplines, including Advisor, Unit Coordinator, Tutor, and currently Associate Lecturer in Language and Learning. My academic practice is built on a strong commitment to inclusive, student-centred teaching and a deep interest in the intersection between communication, cognition, and embodied learning.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours in Psychology from the University of Western Ontario (Canada) and a Graduate Diploma in Education from Murdoch University. In addition to my academic qualifications, I hold certifications/registrations as a TRBWA school teacher, a yoga and Pilates instructor, and an IELTS examiner.
My research interests include embodied learning, flow theory, and movement as a communicative and pedagogical tool. I am particularly interested in how somatic and movement-based practices can enhance mental health, academic performance, and long-term wellbeing. More recently, I have been exploring the role of academic oracy and its evolving significance within the context of generative AI and higher education.
