About me

I am a zoo and wildlife veterinarian and Senior Lecturer in Wildlife and Conservation Medicine at Murdoch University. My research focuses on the health and disease of threatened and protected Australian wildlife, including black cockatoos, western ringtail possums, and quokkas, using conservation medicine approaches to investigate emerging disease threats, toxicological exposures, population health, and diagnostic pathology. I integrate this research directly into teaching and student training, providing veterinary students with hands-on experience in fieldwork and evidence-based conservation practice. I collaborate with government agencies, industry partners, conservation organisations, and wildlife rehabilitators to translate research findings into management strategies that improve wildlife population health and conservation outcomes.
